HW Rudder Balance
Sling technical shared information with me regarding rudder balance (could not find in manual). To check the rudder balance, mount it to stabilizer in the vertical position. The rudder should rest in the neutral position and return to neutral position when moved. I was checking rudder balance in the...

Re: Overlapping skins AV-30
Thanks @lutorm... yes AV-30 is pricey here in the US with very limited distributors. I am definitely over the corrosion prevention process and the mess factor, but its my own doing :D ... lets just say it helps me sleep at night. I think if I was to build another (cant stop at one  ) I'd fog ...

Re: VOR Coax cable length
Thanks @ibgarret I just received antenna package today from Midwest PB and they included a coax (M17/128 RG-400) with bnc connectors for the length of the vertical stab... one step ahead of me every-time. As you mentioned, I'll wait until I can run an accurate measurement—avionics/fuselage/empennage...

VOR Coax cable length
I am planning to install a VOR antenna on vertical stab (Midwest PB recommended AV525 for VOR/LOC/GS) and I'm looking for advice on VOR Coax length before I rivet things closed. What is a good working length tail to panel? Did you create a connected system (tail, fuselage, avionics) or run the full ...

Re: Vertical Stabilizer Rear Spar Rivnuts
I asked Sling technical about the spar rivnuts and they said "this gap will be eliminated when the screws are fastened in the subsequent assembly step." Not exactly the answer I was hoping for but time to move on. Thanks for the feedback @lutorm

Vertical Stabilizer Rear Spar Rivnuts
Can anyone shed light on why the rivnuts at the bottom of the vertical stab rear spar are sandwiched between doublers? Why wouldn't they be installed through spar and 2 doublers?

Re: Dimpling
Through trial and error I learned that not all dimple dies are the same. When you receive a Sling kit, it will come with a small (3/32) and big (1/8) dimple die. Simply put, if the die fits in the hole without play, it's the correct die. If the die almost feels like it will fit, measure the die with...

Re: StarLink
Curious myself. I thought about the BRS blowout panel (I don't have BRS and Sling designed a 6061 blank in lieu of). Will chat with Sling tech and see whats possible. I'm sure lots of creative solutions will come out. I tested the Starlink Mini covered by baggage door fiberglass ... 120 - 200 Mbs. F...

Overlapping skins AV-30
Has anyone used Ardrox AV-30 for waterproofing overlapping skin. First time I’ve heard of this product and it seems like corrosion X but in the Intro KAI it looks like it can be brushed onto skin joint prior to riveting in place. Not required but suggested by Sling.https://www.sealaeroparts.com/prod...
