Is the GFC 500 autopilot independent of the Sling elevator electric trim or is the Garmin pitch trim servo installed in lieu? I understand there is no yaw servo but curious how pitch trim is accomplished.

There is a pitch trim motor that is included with the kit when you build the empennage. If you look at the Empennage installation manual and search for "Trim Motor with Clevis Kit" on sheet 17 in the current build manuals it has it on the diagram. The rest of it is up to the wiring. If you're using Midwest for your panel they are aware of it and build the wire harnesses to work with that motor.

thanks @ibgarrett, thats what I was curious about. Was wondering if the GFC500 pitch servo communicates with the Sling elevator trim servo or if they work independently of one another? I'm guessing they do talk to each other if you have both installed.

Update: Midwest Panel builders confirmed the Ray Allen trim system Sling provides "integrates seamlessly" with GFC 500.
